Our Skilled Nursing service unit has more than 20 years of providing specialized care for our patients in recovery process.

 

They are an indispensable service for the rehabilitation and our continuity care for our patients with special needs, so they can fully recover and to return home. Their service is beneficial for people who have suffered a trauma, disease, or accident. Hip replacements, amputations and injuries to the spinal cord are other examples.

 

Our interdisciplinary team includes: Internists, Physiatrists, Physical and Occupational Therapists, Pathologists, Recreational Therapist, Dietitian, Pharmaceutical, Social workers and Clinical Psychologists; among others. This staff designs an individualized care plan for our patient so they can receive their treatments and therapies to allow a quick recovery.

 

Our Skill Nursing Unit is unique in the South area of Puerto Rico, located within the premises of Damas Hospital, it provides easy access to the services that the patient may need. Therapies are offered six days a week, to expedite the recovery of the patient.

 

The service is available for patients with extended care from your health plan coverage. It is a requirement to have a referral and to be in stable condition, among other criteria.
